Do you daydream about multiple income streams?
Wish you could be your own boss?
This is what affiliate marketing can do for you.
Affiliate marketing is a passive income stream (meaning you work way less or not at all!) is key to making lots of money in your business.
But how do you master affiliate marketing and actually make money doing it?
A big part of your success will be using social media in a smart way.
That being said, do you have a social media strategy for your affiliate business?
The answer is probably no and that’s okay because I’ve got you covered
In order to master affiliate marketing, you need these 4 essentials in your social media strategy:
1. Content Creation
It’s not enough just to share other people’s content. You need to create your own. Your audience wants to hear what you have to say about the programs, services, and products you’re endorsing. That’s why they’re following you and not just the people you tweet about!
Take the time to develop a content calendar and plan what you’re going to talk about each week. Creating content to market your affiliate products or services is so much easier when you you’re part of an affiliate program that is aligned with what you do, so keep that in mind when you find a partner.
When your affiliate product or service is something you love you won’t have a hard time talking about it or creating content around it. If writing a blog about what you’re recommending seems like torture, it might not be the right one for you to represent.
2. Scheduling/Posting
To make serious $$$ from affiliate marketing, you need to be active on social media. This isn’t something you post about every now and then. It’s something you actively promote and share with your community.
The simplest way to make sure that you are active on social media is to schedule your posts in advance. Set a time when you’ll do your posting and use a social media scheduler like Hootsuite, Buffer, or Edgar to schedule your posts ahead of time.
Also, make sure that you’re honest about your opinion! Your audience will be able to tell if you’re really into something or not. You should feel like telling everyone about what you’re affiliate with, so don’t hold back (but don’t be annoying either!).
3. Engagement
We’re at a stage in the digital world where it’s not enough just to be talking at people. You need to be talking with someone. If you’ve been sharing content about your affiliate marketing and no one is responding, take some time to think about how you can be more interactive.
My most favorite way to boost engagement is with Facebook Live. You could hop on and share some tips about a certain topic and add on how the program or product you affiliate with is a great next step for your audience to reach their goals. Make it authentic and natural and get your audience involved.
When you know your audience’s needs and interests clearly, it’s easier to create social media content that they’ll engage with. If you’re still at a loss for what your audience wants to see and hear about, then make sure you ask them.
This is so important! You have to know what your audience wants in order to give them value and get them invested in the programs and products that you’re recommending and selling.
4. Growing Followers
So it’s been a while and your followers are stagnating. Don’t let this happen! Keep working on growing your community because this is what affiliate marketing is all about.
If you want to make thousands of dollars selling affiliate products or services, you need a sizable audience who wants to buy from you. Now, you don’t need to wait to start until your list is 10,000 people, but you also want to make sure that you’re continually focused on growing it. Get my free guide with the steps to grow your mailing list over here.
Keep building your audience to get your affiliate program and product in front of new people. This is where your new customers will come from!
Social media is where the people are and those are the people that are going to give you money! Doesn’t it make sense to have a social media strategy, then? I hope you said yes. Incredible things have happened for me with the help of social media and I know they can for you too.
