I know that the title of this blog sounds a little harsh but I work with a lot of women who want to be successful or have more success in their lives and have insider access into the reasons you don’t feel successful yet.
The truth is that I’m really passionate about helping women have all the success that they want in their lives, and it’s usually not as hard as they think it will be to get that jumpstarted. If you’re feeling like you want to more successful, here are 3 of the most common reasons you might not be successful yet:
1. You’re not clear on what success even means
So here’s the thing, success is different for EVERYONE. For me, success means freedom to work the schedule that I want doing work I love, spending time with the friends and family I love, and money for travel, a nice home, and food shopping at Whole Foods. That might not feel like success to you at all and that’s okay. To some people, success means a marriage and kids and a promotion at work and that’s amazing but if I compared myself to them, I definitely wouldn’t be feeling very successful right now.
What feels successful to you? A lot of times we get focused on making a certain amount of money and that blocks out all the other ways we feel successful!! I actually got a master’s degree from an ivy league school but you know what? I didn’t feel successful because I was focused on finances and that degree left me with a lot of educational debt.
Once I realized it isn’t always about money and I got clear on what success meant, I was able to start feeling it and that instantly made me realize I am already successful. You need to get clear on how you can experience success for yourself and not worry about what others are doing.
2. You’re not getting the support you need
If you don’t have a support system, it can be really hard to experience success. Things can feel like a struggle and it can become so difficult that even when you reach your goals, you’re so tired and overwhelmed that you don’t notice. It’s important to have a team of support around you so that becoming successful is easy and fun.
Plus, you need others to keep you on track when you get distracted and start making comparisons. Also, while your support team can be made up of family, friends, co-workers, your coach, or mastermind friends it’s important that they understand YOUR goals for success and don’t push their opinions on you.
3. You’re not taking action
I’m going to be honest. Success isn’t going to happen if you’re just sitting around waiting for it to show up. You need to take steps to achieve success and that often means doings that scare you and staying focused on your goals. Once you get clear on what success means to you, you’ll be able to identify what steps you need to take to make it happen.
This probably means doing things that scare you a bit or are out of your comfort zone. You need to actually break down your goals for success into smaller steps so you can make it easier to achieve. Be careful to not get distracted by what others are doing as that can cause you get off track and forget exactly what success means to you.

#1 all the way!! I was just telling a friend she needs to stop comparing her biz success with others, especially those with different business models. All you see are the outcomes, not what goes on behind the scenes and over the years to get there. Love this post!
Yes! Love the tip about going out of your comfort zone. You can’t be successful without trying some things that might scare you a little and help you grow
